Small Appliances Make a Big Impact

Just because your kitchen doesn’t have room for a six-burner stove or the largest refrigerator, it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style or function. Vincent Avello with Appliance Gallery explains the best appliances for the smallest kitchens.
“Before starting, take accurate measurements of your kitchen so we can help you pick the optimum appliances for your space,” said Avello. “It even helps to bring in a dinner plate or other dishes when shopping for microwaves, warming drawers, and dishwasher drawers to make sure everything fits.”
Stoves: Revamped vintage appliances can be found in smaller sizes that don’t sacrifice style. “High-end brands, such as Viking, also make small-space models so serious cooks can still make incredible meals in their small kitchens,” said Avello.
Microwaves: New models of microwaves have convection cooking and grilling capabilities in addition to preprogrammed settings for certain foods. “Drawer-style microwaves have become a popular option because they are stylish, compact, and convenient,” said Avello. “To save even more coveted counter space, many people install under-counter or wall microwaves.”
Warming drawers: “Not only do warming drawers save space, they are also ideal for entertaining,” said Avello. Certain models can do everything from slow cooking a roast and prepping bread for baking, to warming up plates for a meal.
Dishwashers: Dishwasher drawers are ideal for small homes with small dish loads. They are equipped with a variety of wash cycles and come with adjustable racks, tines, and stemware holders to fit the needs of all of your cookware.
Sink: Simply choosing a single-bowl sink rather than a double-bowl can save at least a foot of counter space. There are numerous single-bowl options that still feel spacious, such as deep farmhouse sinks. Undermount sinks will save even more counter space because the edges of the sink will be concealed.
Beverage coolers: You don’t have to limit your appliances to the kitchen. “Take your small appliances beyond the kitchen and install a wet bar with compact wine and beverage coolers in basements and entertainment areas,” said Avello. Wine coolers feature dual temperature zones to ensure that reds and whites stay at their proper temperatures. Moving beverage coolers to a different area of the house will free up your kitchen space and create an inviting entertainment area.
“Small kitchen appliances make meal prep and cleanup easier and more convenient, especially in smaller kitchens,” said Avello. “Visit Appliance Gallery for a surplus of appliances that will fit the need of any kitchen, no matter how big or small it may be.”
